Kingfish Help the Environment....

Kingfish Give back to the community!

We have been fortunate this season to benefit from the generosity of our families and many local businesses. One of our families, The Mason Family, has made efforts to make it easy for our team to give back to the community and to help our environment. We ask that you participate!

The concession area at our home meets has recycling bins set up for cans, water bottles and cardboard. Please use these recycling bins at our home meets and do not throw your recyclable items into the trash, a few extra steps  to do this will help the earth!!!

This coming week we will begin collecting items for the Pickerington Food Pantry at team breakfast!!! I will email out to you a listing of the most needed items and post this in the upcoming newsletter! Thank you to the Mason family for organizing these efforts and taking our recycled items to the drop off bins

Practice Notes

  • Parents, thanks for your help cleaning up the pool area after you leave and staying on the left side of the pool area and off the deck during our water time. The shelter will be open for use and provide a more shaded area for everyone.

  • We are asking that all girls either wear a swim cap or tie their hair back for swim practices and meets, especially in the younger age groups. We have a lot of kids with hair all over their eyes in their mouths etc and they cannot see or practice well with this condition. In meets swim caps help streamline your body and make you go faster!!! Even many boys wear them in meets and most of our older boys do wear them to get that edge in speed! Parents please help us with this issue so our kids get the most out of their time in the water.

Help wanted:

  • We need a volunteer(s) to help with our goggle and cap box during practices and meets. We keep a supply of goggles and caps available to our team in case your equipment breaks or you need new itemes. We need a parent or two to sell these items as needed as our coaches are busy with the kids and cannot take time away to assist those needing these items.

  • We also need a volunteer to post information on the bulletin board at the pool for swim team. This is the bulletin board outside by the drinking fountain.

Contact Lisa Ross if you can help. lross@insight.rr.com or 868-1459.

Private Lessons

The coaches are available for private lessons if you wish.

The coaches feel as though all swimmers get the training and instruction they need to be successful in practices; but if some would like to work on specific things or areas of concentration, the coaches can help if you wish and we have had requests for this service. If you not a member of the pool you must pay the guest.
